The Perfect Cup of Tea

Everyone seems to have their own opinion on what makes the perfect cup of tea. Whether it’s the debate over adding milk, honey, or sugar, the optimal steeping time, or the type of teapot to use, preferences vary widely. At Le Bon Thé, we provide you with the perfect method to brew the perfect cup every time.

Essential Rules for making that perfect cup of tea

  • Find that perfect tea that fits your mood. If you are in need of some energy in the morning a cup of black tea or Herbal Tea will give you that boost, did you happen to have a long day and want to relax a soothing cup of chamomile could help you relax into a deepfelt sleep.
  • Always use freshly drawn (filtered if possible) cold water in the kettle. Tea loves oxygen as it helps the flavor develop.
  • Electric tea kettles are all about ease of use. You simply select a temperature and let the kettle do the rest. You'll need to use the right water temperature to develop the best flavors. Many electric kettles feature temperature settings that are tailored to your desired tea type.
  • A teapot is usually a tea tool that is used to serve tea. These can be constructed using clay, ceramic, and porcelain. Teapots should not be used directly on the stove for boiling water as they may crack or shatter.

For thousands of years, the leaves and buds were either placed in a tea pot or were held in a tea infuser.  For tea-making perfectionists, there is no comparison: it is loose-leaf tea.

  1. Prepare tea by placing 1-2 teaspoons of loose tea into a tea infuser or strainer, put the strainer into your cup, or poor teaspoon into infuser.
  2. Pour properly heated water directly over the leaves. If using a teapot, measure 1-2 teaspoons per 8oz of water.

The tea bag especially in the Western world. The greatest benefit of the teabag is convenience: You place the bag in a cup of hot water—no measuring, no mess. However, this convenience comes at the expense of quality.
